Ace have secured the contract for the construction of 3 new houses in Kings Worthy. This project is the latest residential development from Twyford based Box Space Ltd and will see open plan living areas, aluminium windows and a smart fuel system combining a log burner with a traditional gas combi boiler and water cylinder in each property for reduced environmental impact and costs when heating the homes. We are currently pouring the foundations, having already demolished and cleared the derelict bungalow, and look to deliver the houses at the end of 2017
We are delighted to announce that our new build offices project in Twyford, Hampshire, has secured a Gold Considerate Constructors Award. Further to this, the project finished top of its group and was considered for the most considerate site award. This won us a second award and placed the project in the top 30 of the 9,000 entries across the UK!
These awards are a fantastic acknowledgement of the hard work and achievement of the direct company team at Ace as well as our dedicated subcontractors and suppliers. This recognition, received amidst the largest building contractors in the UK, is also a great stepping stone for the onward growth and progression of the business.
Ace were pleased to provide sponsorship to Grace Newman, a pupil at Miltoncross Academy in Portsmouth, who is spending this Easter in Ghana. There she will be building and decorating areas in the local schools and helping the children with English lessons.
Grace raised nearly £2,000 to cover the cost of the trip and we wish her every success with the visit
Ace deliver first seven luxury apartments in central Winchester following the complete refurbishment of 2 Georgian Townhouses. The apartments include all kitchen appliances, stone worktops, high specification bathrooms and en-suites, video entry phone and floor finishes throughout. The works were completed with our dedicated design team, subcontractors and suppliers. All have been sold and the new owners will be moving in shortly. The completion of two duplexes to the front elevation will follow shortly.
Cotswold House is a Victorian building located at the entrance to St. Mary’s Hospital. The building has served many different uses over the years but had been vacant for the last few years. Ace commenced the extensive refurbishment project last summer and the practice are moving in during January 2017. The works include:
- Complete refurbishment from bare shell
- Full strip and recover to roofs
- Removal of 3 no. structurally failed bays and re build in hardwood with new finishes
- Replacement of all windows and doors
- New power, data, heating and ventilation
- Fit out to provide GP surgery rooms, waiting rooms, reception and staff areas
- Two storey extension with decorative corbel brickwork to match existing
- External hard landscaping
The building provided many challenges with asbestos, fireplaces and the original stair case removed and walls and ceilings containing over a hundred years of redecorations and weather damage. A committed delivery from Ace, our dedicated supply chain of subcontractors and suppliers has provided an excellent new facility for the practice and local community.
The project will see Baffins and Milton Park Surgeries, both East Shore Partnership, operating from the building, and the project was delivered to them on behalf of NHS Property Services. The project was managed on behalf of the Client by Currie and Brown, and the design team consisted of Studio Four Architects, ITD Services Consultant and Scott White Hookins Structural Engineers.
Our Client, Humphrey Farms, are settling in to their new offices at Northfields Farm, Twyford. The two storey steel framed building was constructed under a design and build contract with Studio Four Architects, TNG Consulting Services Engineers and White Structures Structural Engineers. The secondary steel framed external walls, posi joist first floor and Kingspan pitched roofs afforded a quick construction process whilst also providing the Client with a building that will provide high acoustic and thermal performance.
The crisp render and cedar details externally, and the high specification and level of finish throughout has provided an excellent, modern working environment in a rural setting.
- Intelligent and versatile VRV heating system
- Low carbon lights, PIR sensor linked solenoids, BREEAM Very Good

Working with the Rund Partnership, Employer’s agent and Clerk of Works for our Client, the standard of workmanship has been recorded and praised.
Ace have successfully completed their annual registration with CHAS. The growth of the company in recent months has seen our registration move to that of larger contractors, with stringent and detailed review of our systems and procedures to support the health and welfare of all office and site teams.
Ace have recently completed the air testing on the new design and build office units in Twyford near Winchester. The target of improving on the standard level of 10m3 of air leakage to 9m3 was greatly surpassed with a certified leakage figure of just 4.43m3.’
Our accredited testing consultants, Msafe from Bournemouth, commented that the result was ‘outstanding for this form of construction’. As the ground floor had not been rendered externally when the test was undertaken it is likely that the finished building will have an even greater level of air tightness for our Client, giving economic and environmental benefits throughout the life of the building
Graze Festival is Hampshire’s newest music, food and arts festival which raises money for local groups and charities in and around Winchester.
Some of the Ace team joined the fun and supported the festival with a paint the hoarding competition but we're not sure who enjoyed it the most..the adults or the children!
We're really excited to announce we've just received the Performance Beyond Compliance certificate from the Considerate Constructors scheme for our offices build project at Humphrey Farms, Twyford!

Ace have secured two projects across adjoining cottages in central Winchester. The works will provide new contemporary extensions with zinc roofs and aluminium doors, and new kitchen and utility areas. John secured a silver award, his third, for the new Learning Centre at Winchester Cathedral completed prior to joining Ace earlier this year. Our site at Twyford is registered with the Considerate Constructor Scheme and we very much hope to be visiting the Capital again next year. Congratulations to John on an excellent achievement.
